About Me

My Photo
In my journey to discover what interior design means to me, I have decided to start a blog. My passion is serving God and serving others, and one day I hope to do this through design! I don't know exactly what that looks like, but I'm excited to find out!

"Ev'ry heart beats true beneath the Red, White, and Blue"

I am now 170 days out from my wedding, and in lieu of the 4th of July holiday this weekend, I thought I would post some pictures of some wedding ideas! Its a stretch to say my colors are "red, white and blue" but Red and a muted Tiffany Blue (seafoam green-ish) are the colors of choice :)

I am getting excited and cannot stop thinking about the wedding... ideas... reception... ceremony... flowers... dresses... Zack... EVERYTHING!!!

Hope you enjoy my wedding inspiration and have a wonderful 4th of July!! Stop by mine and Zack's website: Duhamel-Hart Wedding <3

Chirp Plate by Lenox will be used on the Head Table

I love the silver vases and sticks! Its classy and vintage at the same time!

I love these isle markers and I'm hoping to pull off this look at the Riverfront Pavilion :)

I am wanting to incorporate vintage lanterns and I love how these look!

Remind me of my friends who did this over their dining table, Ryan and Lydia!

I love everything about this picture... the colors, the flowers, and the photography

Love the Paper Lanterns with sticks and the stumps (maybe Birch would be better)

Vintage + Sleek = Classy

Who can make this for me? ;)

360 Here I Come!!!

As most of you know, I am completely obsessed with 360 Architecture in Kansas City (it was actually the first post I ever did!) Well I had an opportunity to got to Kansas City this past week and interview, and I got an internship! I felt so blessed just to interview, much less, actually get offered the internship!!!

So I will be spending the summer working on some of the coolest projects ever! I cannot wait! I toured the firm and it was simply amazing. The team of architects, designers, and other staff are extremely nice, laid back, and VERY talented!

I cannot wait to learn from them! I am ready to soak it all in...

Here are just a FEW of their amazing projects!

Im so pumped :)

PORTFOLIO!!!

So, after much procrastination I have completed my portfolio (which actually paid off because I got an internship!) I only included 5 projects in my portfolio, beginning with the Social Work project because it was the first one we did in autocad.

I had pretty good feedback on it... and my advice to my classmates would be:

1. keep text minimal (the more room you leave to explain it to them yourself, the better)

2. make sure it is self explanatory... that they can understand it, your project, and the overall ideation put into each project

3. include ideation sketches and work... they want to see what you did, why you did it, and HOW you got there!

4. LEAVE WHITE SPACE... you don't have to fill every inch of the page or do crazy background designs... white is GOOD

5. bring teasers for them to look at while you are walking through your portfolio. I had teasers with floorplans and sketches on it so while I was talking about a project, they could look at their own personal teaser!

So here is my portfolio... please feel free to leave constructive comments!
